The Venue Build: What’s New
Since issue 001, the Portals venue layer has crossed a meaningful threshold — founding artists can now enter their own browser-native stage for the first time. The room loads. The spatial audio works. You can walk into it.
It’s not performance-ready yet. But it’s real, and it’s yours.
What we’re finishing now: the show controls panel (go live, manage audience view, close the room), the fan entry flow, and the basic customization options for the stage environment. These are the last pieces before the first live show.
Coming Next: The First Live Milestone
We’re targeting the first Stagefront live performance within the next three weeks. It’ll be a small, private show — a founding artist, a real audience, a real set. No press, no fanfare. Just proof that the thing works.
We’ll share a full write-up here afterward, including what held up and what surprised us.
Artist Tip: Prepare Your Room Before You Prepare Your Set
Most artists spend 90% of their prep time on the music and 10% on the environment. For virtual shows, flip that ratio at least once before your first performance.
Walk into your venue alone. Check sightlines. Test audio levels at different “positions” in the room. Practice your transitions — entering, starting the set, ending, the fan Q&A if you’re doing one. The artists who feel most natural on stage are the ones who’ve already been in the room when it was empty.
The music will carry itself. The environment is the part that needs rehearsal.
