How to Set Up Your First 3D Venue on Stagefront

Your permanent stage on the internet — live in under 30 minutes.

Most artists spend weeks trying to figure out Twitch, OBS, stream keys, and RTMP settings before they ever play a note for anyone. Stagefront cuts that down to under 30 minutes. Here’s exactly how to go from zero to a fully configured 3D venue with your first show scheduled.

Step 1: Complete Your Profile

After signing in to your Stagefront dashboard, head to the Profile tab. Fill in your stage name, genre tags (pick up to 5 — these help fans discover you in the shows directory), and your artist bio. Upload a profile photo that represents your brand.

This is also where you’ll drop in your social links — Spotify, Bandcamp, Instagram, wherever your listeners already follow you.

Step 2: Provision Your Portals Space

Go to Venue Builder → Room Setup. Click Provision Portals Space to generate your permanent room URL. This is your stage — it never changes, you own it indefinitely.

Once it’s provisioned, you’ll see your unique room URL and a direct link to open your space in Portals. Keep this URL somewhere — it’s what you share with fans for every show.

Step 3: Configure Your Atmosphere

In the Venue Builder tab, you’ll find controls for:

Particle effects — ambient floating particles that match your genre’s vibe. Subtle for jazz, intense for electronic, warm for folk.
Lighting mood — the baseline color temperature of your room
Billboard settings — large in-room surfaces where you can display artwork, upcoming show dates, or your logo

Take 10 minutes here. The venue atmosphere is the first thing fans see when they walk in — make it feel like your space.

Step 4: Pick Your Show Mode

This is the most important decision before you go live. In the Access tab, you’ll find three Show Mode options:

📡 Broadcast Mode — You speak, fans listen. Their mics are muted, but they can still text-chat in the global feed and send you DMs privately. Best for: headlining performances, album releases, premiere events.

🗣️ Community Mode — Everyone can talk. Fans can hear each other as they move through the space. Spatial audio means voices get louder as people move closer together. Best for: intimate shows, listening parties, Q&As.

🤫 Silent Mode — All audio is muted. Fans communicate via private DMs only — no public chat feed. Best for: art installations, ambient music experiences, anything where the audio is entirely coming from your screenshare.

Each mode tells you exactly which Portals Space Options to configure — no guessing.

Step 5: Add Your AI Characters

Even when you’re not performing, your venue can be alive. Go to AI Presence and create at least one NPC:

Digital Twin — an AI version of you that talks to fans, answers questions about your music, and keeps the space active 24/7
Merch Rep — directs fans to your products and links
Venue Guide — walks new visitors through the space

The studio walks you through generating a system prompt for each character — paste it directly into Portals’ AI Space Options and it’s live.

Step 6: Schedule Your First Show

In the Shows tab, create your first event. Add:

Show name and description
Date and time (with timezone — fans in Tokyo and Toronto both see their local time)
Access type: open, ticketed, or invite-only
Whether it’s a featured show

Once saved, it appears in Stagefront’s public shows directory. Fans can RSVP and will get an automated reminder email 24 hours and 1 hour before you go live.

Step 7: Go Live

When it’s showtime:

Open your Portals room URL
In Portals, use screenshare to broadcast your DAW, camera feed, or visuals into the stage object
Fans who enter the room see and hear your performance — the closer they walk to the stage, the louder your audio gets

That’s spatial audio. That’s presence. Not a chat box and a video rectangle.
